Sometimes an opportunity presents itself and at first glance we don’t always jump at it for various reasons. So when first asked, I had to decline the opportunity. Then it was presented to me a second time and with a little time to think about it I decided to see what I could do. With a bit of juggling , a high tail race from Central Park in Manhattan back to Greenwich, and a prayer for no traffic, I knew I would be able to work it out. ( Thank you Buddy Toth for accommodating me in that little bit of juggling … you’re the best ! )
The beautiful decor and details were so elegantly brought together by the fabulous mother and daughter team from Pygmalion Design . The ambience wasn’t complete without the amazing Jazz and Swing sounds of Duchess Di and the Distractions and special guest singer Renee Olstead. If you EVER have a chance to see them live, I encourage you to do so.
It was an event and evening worth making a sacrifice for.
So without further ado, I present to you, a night honoring Sentebale and HRH PRince Henry of Wales….
Tidbits on Sentebale :
Founded in 2006, Sentebale’s mission is to transform the lives of Lesotho‘s orphans and vulnerable children who have been effected by the HIV/ Aids epidemic that is ravaging their country. The charity was founded by Prince Harry from the British Royal Family and Prince Seeiso from the Lesotho Royal Family. Sentebale’s name means “forget me not” in Lesotho and is a reminder of all of the children who need help here. Lesotho is a unique and beautiful country, but with extreme poverty and the third highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the world that effects 33% of their adult population, it is a country in desperate need of help. With an estimated 400,000 orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho, Sentebale works with grass roots organizations to identify, support and empower these children to transform their own lives.
